Raising the minimum energy conversion rates Many clients in Europe have announced that they will be raising the minimum energy conversion rates for polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) solar cells, according to DigiTimes. Taiwan- based chipmakers say that the conversion rates will go up to 16-16.2% from 15.8%. Sources indicted, "Solar cells with energy conversion rates lower than 16-16.2% are now being classified as low-end products". This increase in energy conversion rates is partly because silicon has not seen supply shortages as it did in 2008. Info. colleacted from Hebe Solar |
